Dual XHD6425 4X50 Watt Bluetooth-Ready HD Radio and MP3 Player This instant

I have owned the Dual XHD6425 for over 2 months now. The performance of the unit has been flawless. Construction seems solid and the look of the unit is quite attractive. The sound quality of the unit seems to very good to extent my Alpine speakers permit. CDs, and MP3s sound clear and noiseless. Conventional radio sounds good, but you can definitely tell when HD FM radio is being used. The quality is comparable to CD. The HD AM is very good too but has a softer less focused quality, this could due to the quality of the source thought. Not many HD AM stations around me.

The Bluetooth module works great (sold separately.) The microphone picks up your voice clearly and the voice of person I'm talking to is played loud and clearly over the speakers. Mounting the Bluetooth unit was somewhat challenging though. You just have a small clip and Velcro to attach the transceiver to the visor, and it's up to you how to snake and mount the long cable from the back of the receiver to your visor. Setting up the Bluetooth connection was unremarkable. By the way, I didn't try playing music through the Bluetooth thought the option is available.

I have only 3 issues with this unit all relating to handling MP3s. First, the unit has rudimentary control scheme for moving around songs and albums, second the display shows minimal information about the songs. I must add though that this is a rather common issue among MP3 capable car receivers. None of the ones I looked at had controls even near the functionality of an iPod (Apple are you listening?) Lastly, and least important, is the somewhat restrictive folder structure required in order for the unit see the MP3 tracks on a CD. I like to structure my music CD's heavily, usually by genre, artist, and then album, which seems to make the CDs unplayable in this unit.

To wrap it up, this is one of the best car receivers I've owned. For the price range (from Amazon) it easily beats the competition hands down in features and the performance. All in a attractive and easy to use package (once installed.)
