for the price, this is a winner. its loaded with features.
best features? A) detachable face. need this for theft prevention, plus kinda useful if you want to plot in advance. B) music is instant on. when i plug my iphone in it remembers the last song that was playing and picks it up rightaway. C) voice nav works well -- plenty of time to make my turns. i like the "intersection view". it re-routes quickly when i go my own way.
problems? A) when using bluetooth, you cannot type digits on the display! this makes it *impossible* to navigate telephone systems w/o using your phone's handset. lame. B) ipod interface is clunky. luckily they let you switch to ipod-control if you prefer. C) charging xtra for POIs is a jerk-move. luckily you can just use your iphone or whatnot instead. D) the "Avic Feeds for iPhone" application for sending an address to the unit is pretty lame, doesnt work as one would expect it.
...all in all tho, for $320-400, its a pretty cool little upgrade to the stock unit. i got a "Pro Clip" custom clip that holds my phone in place on the dash, so its all pretty slick.Get more detail about Pioneer AVIC-U310BT 4.3-Inch In-Dash Navigation Receiver with CD Player and Bluetooth.
