Lowest Price Pioneer AVIC-U310BT 4.3-Inch In-Dash Navigation Receiver with CD Player and Bluetooth

I got this unit because I wanted an in-dash navigation unit that I could remove from the car to prevent theft. The price was right and at first the unit was great. I found out pretty fast that it has problems.

Navigation: The nav freezes up often, usually when I first start out. It takes sometimes up to 3 or 4 minutes to get going and usually it has no idea where I am, showing me going off road and "flying" across rivers. Eventually it catches up and finds my location, but by then I've stopped caring. Also, there are no POIs that anyone would care about. If you want the good stuff, like gas stations and restaurants it will cost you an additional $100 for the SD card from Pioneer.

Bluetooth:
The Bluetooth is worthless. It worked for the first few days but then it wouldn't come on at all. I had to reset the unit to get it working again, only to find as soon as I turned the car off it would break again. I tried re-pairing my phone and even upgraded the bluetooth software on my LG phone to see if that would fix it. No luck.

There is some good. The sound quality is excellent and I am very happen with the iPod control. Some of the audio settings are confusing but nothing that reading the manual wouldn't cure. I gave it a rating of 3 stars because I think the unit will be great if and when Pioneer releases a software update to fix the bugs.
