This is an amazing headunit. I replaced my factory unit with the avh-p3100dvd and immediately, the improvement in sound quality is noticeable. I have factory speakers installed and I'm completely content with the sound output from them now. DVD and CD playback is loud and clear. If you have movies or podcasts on your Ipod/Iphone device, then I highly recommend buying the CD-IU50V cable, but if you just want music from your IPod/IPhone, then the standard usb sync/power cable will be more than adequate.
